3rd Annual Weill Cornell Medicine Emergency Medicine Research Symposium

Thanks again to everyone who contributed to and participated in our department's recently held 3rd Annual Weill Cornell Medicine Emergency Medicine Research Symposium. I really enjoyed (and learned an enormous amount) moderating a panel discussion including Emergency Medicine research leaders from other institutions in our region: Bernard P. Chang from Columbia University, Ethan Cowan from Rutgers, Jeffrey Glassberg from Mount Sinai, and Richard Rothman from Johns Hopkins -- each offered unique, valuable perspectives on how to support Emergency Medicine research and to navigate the ongoing uncertainty. The conversation was thought-provoking and inspiring. Also, it was great to have Gail Donofrio return as our keynote speaker to share her experiences as a innovative leader and also to offer critical insights and advice for those pursuing or interested in career in EM research. We were lucky to have colleague Radhika Sundararajan moderate a discussion of WCM colleagues Hooman Kamel from Neurology, Bruce Schackman from Population Health Sciences, and Deborah Levine from Pediatric Emergency Medicine on opportunities and strategies to improve collaboration and productivity. The research was great, too -- it was amazing to learn about the broad range of potentially practice-changing research being done by members of our department in collaboration with folks in other departments at other institutions. I thought the new digital format worked well -- thanks very much to Samara Benitez for coordinating this elaborate event! Thanks so much to Junaid Razzak MBBS, Ph.D. FACEP and Rahul Sharma, MD, MBA, FACEP for their leadership. You can view the abstracts here. See you at next year's Symposium!
