ACEP 2025 poster

I was delighted to present at #ACEP2025 on work led by colleague Michael Alfonzo highlighting that older adults board in the ED after hospital admission longer than younger adults. This is important to acknowledge and address given that older adults may be at particularly high risk for poor outcomes from prolonged boarding. It has been great to focus on this topic with colleagues Peter A. D. Steel, MA, MBBS, FACEP and Patrick Rumble, and I look forward to continue to work with them and Sarah Perelman, MD to explore what the causes for this and how to optimally address it at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and more broadly.
