Providing care in the ED/hospital to patients who are experiencing elder mistreatment can raise challenging ethical issues. Clinical ethicists can play a key role in the treatment of these patients. Thanks very much to our amazing Clinical Ethics consult service at Weill Cornell Medicine / NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital! I really appreciated being interviewed for a story highlighting this in the October 2024 issue of Medical Ethics Advisor from Relias, with along with elder mistreatment management colleague Alyssa Elman and clinical ethicist Barrie J. Huberman, PhD HEC-C. Thanks to Stacey Kusterbeck and team at the journal for highlighting this important issue.
