Very excited to contribute to a manuscript in Journal of the American Geriatrics Society (JAGS) led by Lauren Southerland describing a novel partnership where Ohio State Office of the Aging’s case managers were embedded in the ED to assist with assessment and connection to services. This represents a promising model of geriatric care focused on a particularly vulnerable population of older adults -- hopefully, other communities will try this -- great work by co-authors Carolyn Dixon, LSW, LCDCIII, Shameka Turner, Kalih West, Tameka Hairston, and Caroline Rankin, MPH. This work was part of the successful National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment Mentorship Program (Dr. Southerland was part of the first cohort of mentees, though it was a much more of a collaboration between than me mentoring her!). The program, funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation, is now accepting applications for the third cohort: https://main.edc.org/NCAEM-mentorship.
