Participated in Nebraska Hospital Association's Vulnerable Populations Conference

I was excited to participate earlier this week in the Nebraska Hospital Association's Vulnerable Populations Conference -- presenting with colleagues and friends Kristin Lees Haggerty, Rebecca Stoeckle, and Olanike Ojelabi of edc.org about elder mistreatment. Older adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation are a particularly vulnerable population, and we discussed the Emergency Department Toolkit -- a model to improve screening and response in EDs.

At the conference, I really appreciated learning about the unique challenges of providing care in rural environments and meeting the extraordinary folks who provide this care, including in essential critical access hospitals. Thanks to the Nebraska Rural Health Association, who supports and advocates for them.

It was great to hear about the work of other presenters Rashelle Hoffman, PT, DPT, PhD, GCS, ardis reed, Meredith Koob, and Whitney Feldman MHA. Wajahat Ali's keynote address was inspiring and poignant. Thank you to who all who are doing great work to fill the gaps in serving vulnerable populations in and around Nebraska.

Thanks particularly Dana Steiner and Matt Lentz from the Nebraska Hospital Association for their leadership and this really important conference.
