Really enjoyed participating recently in Weill Cornell Department of Emergency Medicine 3rd Annual Research Retreat! The timely focus on the (rapidly evolving!) world of AI and the potential the leverage these tools to strengthen our research was extremely helpful and also thought-provoking. AI may revolutionize our ability to conduct research (and help with conducting many of the tasks researchers need to complete as part of their work), but there are ethical issues to consider. Many thanks to our amazing speakers Liz Goldberg, MD from the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine, Zachary Grinspan, MD MS of the Weill Cornell Department of Pediatrics, and Joshua Faber, MD of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency for sharing their insights and experience. It was also great to have break-out groups in the afternoon among the core research faculty and research staff with frank conversation about how we can improve as a research division and a team.
Grateful for the exceptional leadership of Rahul Sharma, MD, MBA, FACEP, and Junaid Razzak, MD, PhD, FACEP. Thank you to Deborah Levine for everything including organizing and leading much of the program. And thanks to the terrific team who coordinated and supported the retreat—and who keep the Division running every day: Samara Benitez, Walid Farooqi, Sheza Hassan, and Bria Williams.
Looking forward to what we will accomplish together in the year ahead. #EmergencyMedicine #Research
